#3. Illustrating Data

While I had frustrations finding a reliable dataset, I still wanted to experiment with using digital history tools to illustrate data (see: Research Goal #3.)

For this part of the project, I started out with the Family Tree Project. For a while, I considered scrapping all of the other goals for this project and just concentrating on making this the main focus. However, I ran into a lot of technical challenges (described in following pages), so this became just one of many unfinished facets to this unweildy project!

Mapping the Astors came from wanting to use some of the map and timeline-based software.
