The following section contains the specific accounts from David Barnes book divided into specific precincts and the policemen from each precinct. Each precinct had specific duties and were tasked to specific conflicts/locations throughout the week of the riots. The visual representation provided with each precinct and its text (including timeline) should help understand the incredible job and and vast amount of help the New York Police force was in keeping the riot from creating a rift within the Union's Civil War efforts.
